Entering A Championship Event

TSA will mail detailed regulations and application forms to each club only for those events requested. Read these regulations carefully to insure that your team is eligible. Some clubs have their own elimination to select the club representative. Make sure that each team is able to go on to the next level if it wins. Then fill out the application form; be sure that it is signed by a flag officer of the club; and send it to the event host club with the entry fee listed in the US SAILING schedule. Entry forms for all quarterfinal events should be postmarked three weeks before the event.

Again, all applications, entry fees and deposits should be sent to the event host club.

US SAILING requires that all competitors (skipper and crew) at the quarterfinal (TSA) level and above be US SAILING members. Teams entered in a TSA Championship are expected to sail in all races in the event, unless excused by the jury. Failure to comply will result in disqualification of the crew from future TSA events for a period of the balance of the current calendar year and the following year. The club represented by the crew will be barred from fielding representatives in TSA events for the balance of the year and the year following the last offense. Any appeals by the club, skipper or crew must be made to the Executive Committee of TSA.

TSA events specified as BYOB (bring-your-own-boat) will also be SYOB (sail-your-own-boat) unless the listing of Championship Events specifies a boat rotation format - or except as the Conditions and Sailing Instructions are modified to fit the regional (TSA and Area F) requirements.
